Islamabad, Pakistan – President of the Pakistan Boxing Council (PBC), Zaigham Rasheed, held a high-profile meeting with Chairman Tehreek-e-Jawanan Pakistan (TJP) Abdullah Hameed Gul, son of the late DG ISI General Hameed Gul, to discuss the future of professional boxing in Pakistan.
The meeting was also attended by international promoter Baris Erdoğan, CEO of Tunal Academy (Türkiye), Abid Ali, CEO of AB Promotions, Muhammad Kashif, Vice President of Punjab PBC and President of the Sports Wing of TJP, and Rehman Saeed Khan, President of Punjab PBC and son of the legendary actor Rangila.
The discussions focused on the importance of strengthening professional boxing in Pakistan, improving the infrastructure for local talent, and creating opportunities to facilitate international fighters to compete in Pakistan. The leaders emphasized building partnerships that will raise Pakistan’s profile on the global boxing stage, provide platforms for youth, and promote sports diplomacy through international events.
Speaking at the occasion, PBC President Zaigham Rasheed highlighted the Council’s mission: “Our goal is to make Pakistan a hub for professional boxing in Asia, providing young fighters with the opportunities, recognition, and global exposure they deserve.”
The collaboration marks a significant step toward positioning Pakistan as a serious destination for international boxing and ensuring the sport contributes positively to youth development and national pride.
